Trying to manage worries can be a nightmare, especially when you’re in the middle of an worries attack. Your mind races faster than you can keep up with, and it feels like you can’t breathe. The symptoms can be impossible to manage, and many typical treatments fail those who suffer from this ailment.

However, one new treatment is surfacing that has been promising. It’s called CBD oil.

What is CBD oil?

CBD is short for cannabidiol. It’s a non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in the marijuana plant. Cannabinoids naturally occur in the body and are known as endocannabinoids. They act as a bridge between the body and mind.

CBD oil is made by taking potent hemp plants and using an extraction solvent and applying it to ground hemp plants. When the solvent is removed, the CBD oil remains.

CBD is legal in almost all 50 states. THC or tetrahydrocannabinol is the cannabinoid that makes you feel high if you use marijuana. When THC is removed from the marijuana plant, it is free from many of the side effects that steer people away from this drug.

CBD’s Effect on Worries

CBD oil does a lot for your brain. For the most part, it changes how different receptors in your brain function. The biggest one related to worries is serotonin, which plays a big role in your mental health. Many people take antidepressants to raise their serotonin levels, but they come with a lot of dangerous side effects

Worries disorders can happen for a variety of reasons. If your serotonin levels are too low, that can lead to developing a biologically based worries disorder. Bad genetics and poor diet are some of the main causes of worries disorders. Having worries can also create more worries by changing the way your neurotransmitters work.

If you struggle with agitation, negative thoughts, poor memory, and muscle pain, your worries likely comes in part from a serotonin deficiency. However, when your serotonin levels are more balanced, you’re likely to feel happy and well balanced.

CBD oil has been shown to reduce stress in those who suffer from worries. It can also help treat insomnia, reduce overall effects of social worries, and even provide some antipsychotic benefits for those with schizophrenia.

CBD Oil Side Effects

For the most part, CBD oil is considered safe. However, some people experience mild side effects when using it. It can cause, changes in mood, dry mouth, dizziness, fatigue, problems sleeping, and stomach discomfort.

CBD oil also has a foul taste. Many complain of the taste, and some find it so repulsive that they end up gagging when they take it.

How to Get CBD Oil

There are many CBD oil-based products out there. You can choose whichever one works best for you. There are three different ways to consume pure CBD oil products: oral, topical, and vapor.

Oral

Swallowing CBD oil can take time, since it must first travel through your digestive system. You can take CBD oil through edibles like gummies, pills, spays, and tinctures. This method takes a while to enter your bloodstream, but when it does, the effect is usually more potent.

Topical

Topical applications are usually best for those who have skin issues and don’t have much effect on worries.

Vapor

Before you can vape CBD oil, you need to get a vape pen. Some come in cartridges, while you can add others to your device by hand. Vaping CBD oil means it enters your bloodstream faster and you’ll feel it immediately.

CBD oil is a relatively inexpensive and mostly safe way to treat worries on your own. Researchers are beginning to put it through rigorous clinical trials to test its effects on worries and other ailments. If you’re looking for alternative ways to treat your worries, CBD oil could be a good option for you.

If you want to get similar results to those in the study, you have a few options. You can also write letters of gratitude to people in your life each week, but that's not the only option.
